The Camargue | Day 1
Departure from Marseilles in a deluxe coach with your Carol Voyages guide and road to the Camargue. Stop at Martigues, the Provençal Venice, and walk on the old fishermen’s district. Then 5km hike in the heart of the Marais de Vigueirat Regional Nature Reserve to discover over 2000 species of animals and plants. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.
The Camargue | Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit a “manade” where you raise bulls and horses of Camargue breed. Continuation for the capital of the Camargue : Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the second largest town in France by its surface area. Visit of its church and Camargue museum. Continuation with the visit of the Pont de Gau ornithological park to admire pink flamingos, herons, egrets, ibis… Free time for dinner and overnight in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.
The Camargue | Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, embark on a little train for over an hour journey to discover salty tables, the fabulous salt of the Camargue and its pink waters that make the place magical and exceptional. Continuation on Aigues Mortes, medieval fortress with its 20 towers and 1634 meters of ramparts. Visit the city and the tower of Constance, 40 meters high, with a wide view of the Camargue. Afterwards, you will pass through the Grande-Motte then the Grau-du-Roi to visit the Seaquarium and discover the life and history of the inhabitants of the seabed. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.
The Camargue | Day 4
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the morning for Arles, a city rich in heritage and visit of its amphitheater, the ancient theater and the cloister Saint Trophime. Exiting Arles by the Bridge of Langlois which inspired a famous painting of Van Gogh. Road to Marseille.
