  • Weekend in Burgundy | Day 1

    Departure from Paris in a deluxe coach with your Carol Voyages guide and road to Burgundy. Stop in Auxerre for a tour of the old town with its half-timbered houses, the St Etienne cathedral, the Clock Tower… Free time for lunch in the old town and then drive to Chablis for a visit of a wine cellar with tasting. Continuation to Ancy-le-Franc and visit of its castle, flagship of the Renaissance. Pursuit for Noyers classified among the most beautiful villages of France. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

  • Weekend in Burgundy | Day 2

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit the Cistercian abbey of Fontenay founded by St Bernard in the 12th century. Free time for lunch then road to Marsannay, first village of the Côte de Nuits. Visit of the cellars of the Château de Marsannay where you will discover the history of the Burgundy’s wines, the cellars with double vault of Cistercian style, and a tasting with view on the vineyard. Continuation for a visit to the Gaugry cheese dairy, a family business founded in 1946, where you can visit its facilities and understand the manufacture of its cheese. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

  • Weekend in Burgundy | Day 3

    Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Vezelay and visit of its basilica classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continuation by a visit of the feudal castle of Bazoches, home of Vauban. In the afternoon visit of Guédélon where the construction of a castle of the thirteenth century. Discover the eleven trades present on the site : carriers, stone cutters, masons, carpenters, lumberjacks, blacksmiths, tiliers, carters, tailpieces… Time on the spot for lunch. Drive back to Paris and end of services.
