  • Burgundy Wines | Day 1

    Departure from Paris in a deluxe coach with your Carol Voyages guide and road to Burgundy. Stop in Auxerre for a tour of the old town with its half-timbered houses, the Saint Etienne cathedral, the Clock Tower … Free time for lunch in the old town then drive to Chablis for a wine cellar visit with tasting. Continuation to Ancy-le-Franc and visit of its castle, flagship of the Renaissance. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

  • Burgundy Wines | Day 2

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure for Noyers classified among the most beautiful villages of France and visit. Continuation for a visit to the Cistercian abbey of Fontenay founded by Saint Bernard in the 12th century. Free time for lunch then road to Marsannay, first village of the Côte de Nuits. Visit the cellars of the Château de Marsannay where you will discover the history of the Burgundy’s wines, the cellars with double vault of Cistercian style, and a tasting with view on the vineyard. Continuation for a visit to the Gaugry cheese dairy, a family business founded in 1946, where you can visit its facilities and understand the manufacture of its cheese. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning drive to Dijon and visit of the city. In its restored medieval center, discover the magnificent Palais des Ducs, the Fine Arts Museum or the Hôtel de Vogué. Time in the old town for lunch, then in the early afternoon drive to Gevrey-Chambertin with a cellar visit. Continuation to the famous castle of Clos de Vougeot for a visit. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

    Breakfast at the hotel. Morning in the ‘Champs Elysées’ of Burgundy with PDO as prestigious as Vosne Romanée, Aloxe Corton, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny Montrachet … Free time for lunch then stop at Nuits-Saint-Georges for a visit of the Morin cellars with a tasting of 4 great wines. Continuation to the original visit of the Cassissium in Nuits-Saint-Georges to discover the seven keys opening the doors of the wonderful world of blackcurrant. Continuation to Mercurey for an original visit of the Antonin Rodet’s house. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

    Breakfast at the hotel. Road to Beaune and Pommard for a morning dedicated to the visit of Beaune with the jewel of medieval architecture : the museum of the hotel Dieu and the hospices of Beaune. Continuation by a visit to the famous Mustard Fallot. Time in town, in the heart of Beaune for lunch. In the afternoon road to Vezelay and visit of the village then continuation by a visit of the feudal castle of Bazoches, home of Vauban. Free time for dinner and night in a 3-star hotel in the surrounding area.

    Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to the visit of Guédélon where the construction of a castle of the 13th century start. Discover the eleven trades present on the site : carriers, stone cutters, masons, carpenters, lumberjacks, blacksmiths, tiliers, carters, tailpieces… Time on the spot for lunch.
